Air Con Regas & Refrigeration Gas Refill

Our air con regas service finds and repairs refrigerant leaks, pressure-tests the circuit, then refills AC, chiller or commercial refrigeration systems to the manufacturer’s specified charge across London and the M25.

What the service covers

AC and commercial refrigeration refrigerant services

An air conditioning refill is not routine maintenance. Split, multi-split, cassette, ducted and VRF/VRV systems use a sealed refrigerant circuit. If the charge is low, we investigate the cause before refilling. Our engineer checks running pressures, temperatures, airflow and fault history, then carries out an electronic leak search where readings point to refrigerant loss.

For AC equipment we commonly handle R32, R410A and R407C. The refrigerant type and correct charge are taken from the unit data plate and manufacturer information; gases are never mixed or substituted. Following a repair, the circuit is pressure-tested, evacuated with a vacuum pump and charged by weight before performance readings are recorded.

We also provide commercial refrigeration regas for cold rooms, refrigerated display cabinets, cellar cooling systems and chillers. Common refrigeration gases include R404A, R448A and R449A, subject to equipment design and current requirements. If you need a refrigeration engineer near me for a stock-critical fault, tell us the equipment type, model and displayed temperature when you call.

Equipment covered

  • Wall splits, multi-splits and cassette AC
  • VRF and VRV air conditioning systems
  • Air-cooled and water-cooled chillers
  • Cold rooms and walk-in freezers
  • Refrigerated display cabinets and counters
  • Cellar cooling and beer-cooling equipment

Fault indicators

Signs you may need a regas

Poor cooling

Rooms, cabinets or cold stores take longer to reach set temperature, or never get there.

Ice or frost

Ice on pipework or coils can indicate low charge, restricted airflow or another system fault.

Pressure faults

Low-pressure trips, repeated alarms or short cycling require proper diagnosis rather than a top-up.

Higher energy use

A system running continuously may be compensating for reduced capacity or heat-transfer problems.

Oil staining

Oil around joints, service valves or coils can mark the location of a refrigerant leak.

Warm product

Rising cabinet or cold-room temperatures need urgent attention to protect stock and food safety.

Our regas process

  1. 1. Diagnose: confirm symptoms, inspect the system and measure temperatures, pressures and electrical operation.
  2. 2. Find and repair: locate refrigerant loss, recover remaining gas safely and repair the leak where practical.
  3. 3. Test: pressure-test with oxygen-free nitrogen and verify the circuit holds before evacuation.
  4. 4. Recharge: vacuum the circuit, add the specified refrigerant by weight and commission under load.
  5. 5. Record: document the refrigerant handled and final readings under the F-Gas Regulations 2014.

All refrigerant work is completed by F-Gas certified engineers in accordance with the F-Gas Regulations 2014. We do not use refrigerant as a shortcut for unresolved compressor, airflow, controls or heat-exchanger faults.

After charging, we allow the equipment to stabilise and compare suction and discharge conditions, superheat or subcooling, air-on and air-off temperatures, and the achieved room or cabinet temperature. A regas is complete only when the system operates correctly, not simply when pressure appears normal. If another defect prevents commissioning, we explain it and quote the next repair separately.

Coverage across London and the M25

We attend offices, shops, restaurants, bars, hotels, server rooms, commercial kitchens and food retail sites throughout Greater London and the M25 corridor. Access details, parking restrictions and roof or plant-room access help us allocate the right engineer and equipment.

For urgent chiller regas or refrigeration breakdowns, provide the site postcode, equipment make and model, refrigerant shown on the data plate, fault code and current temperature. This information helps us prepare without assuming that low refrigerant is the only fault.

Pricing from £120+VAT

Engineer time starts from £120+VAT per hour with a one-hour minimum. Refrigerant, nitrogen, repair materials and parts are charged separately. We explain the findings and provide the price before additional work proceeds.
